KARACHI: Custom Enforcement has seized 1362 bags of poppy seeds and 680 bags of sea salt. The market value of recovered goods is worth of Rs 8.387 millions, it has learnt here.
According to details, after receiving a secret information about smuggling of poppy seed to Malaysia through mis-declaration Director Enforcement Muhammad Yaqoob Mako, Additional Director Touseef Amaan and Assistant Director Amjad Rajper formed a team headed by Deputy Superintendent Ilyas Ahmed, Inspector Sauood-ul-Hassan, Shahid Khan, Saeedur Rehman and Rasheed Aalam examiner at Port Qasim.
The customs team examined a consignment booked by M/s. Shah Plastic Industry which was being sent to Malaysia in the grab of sea salt through mis-declaration.
The customs team recoverd 1362 bags of poppy seeds and 680 bags of sea salt from the consignment. The customs team seized the consignment and registered a case against the owners of the consignment.
