DUBAI: The value of Dubai’s non-oil trade with the European Union (EU) countries reached AED145 billion in the first nine months of 2015.
The emirate’s non-oil trade with the EU countries was divided between imports worth AED113bn and exports valued at AED7.1bn, while re-exports recorded a value of AED24.8bn.
Dubai Customs explained that Germany topped Dubai’s partners from the EU with its trade value with the emirate amounting to AED33.4bn, followed by Belgium with trade at AED22.7bn, then the United Kingdom at AED22.5bn; Italy, AED16bn; France, AED15.3bn; Netherlands, AED7.9bn; and Spain at AED5.4bn.
Dubai’s imports from Germany accounted for 27 per cent of the emirate’s total imports from the EU countries, which amounted to AED113bn, reports UAE-based Aliqtisadi.
The emirate’s total exports to EU countries amounted to AED7.1bn, of which trade with the Netherlands amounted to AED2bn, followed by Germany at AED 1.1bn.
