WASHINGTON: Latvia’s small ports handled 1.37 million tons of cargo in 2015, which is 12.6% less than in 2014, when the ports handled 1.59 million tons of cargo, the Transport Ministry informed LETA.
The largest cargo turnover was registered at Skulte Port – 585,200 tons. This is 21.2% less than in 2014. Mersrags Port’s cargo turnover decreased 16.7% to 402,900 tons.
Salacgriva Port’s cargo turnover was 352,600 tons – a 6.1% increase.Roja Port handled 31,600 tons of cargo in of 2015, which is 6.1% less than the previous year. Pavilosta Port handled 2,300 tons of cargo last year. In 2014, the port registered no cargo turnover.
