Collector Appraisement West Owais expresses satisfaction over PRV Cell working

KARACHI: The Collector of Customs Collectorate Appraisement (West) Dr Owais Jawwad Agha has said that the Collectorate is focusing of revenue recovery and thus the role of Post Release Verification (PRV) Cell is vital for recovering duty/taxes through strict vigilance over cleared consignments.

Talking to Customs Today at his office, the Collector Appraisement (West) Dr Owais Jawwad Agha said that the special emphasize is being given to the PRV Cell of the Collectorate, so that the more revenue could be recovered through constructing revenue recovery cases against those importers who cleared their consignments through mis-declaration and under-invoicing.

Responding to a query, the Collector -Appraisement (West) said that the team of PRV is very efficient and working in really a professional way keeping revenue recovery in terms of duty/taxes, the top most priority.

The Collector further said that weekly meetings would be conducted from the next months in order to enhance the performance of the PRV Cell.

Replying to another query, the Collector Appraisement (West) expressed his satisfaction over the performance of PRV Cell, however; adding that the improvement is an on-going process and it would not be stopped at any cost.

The Collector  Appraisement (West) further said that the tax evasion and mis-declaration cases have been decreased in numbers through firm vigilance and observation.
