ISLAMABAD: The exports of surgical goods and medical instruments witnessed 4.38 per cent increase and reached of $178.152 million during first half (July-December) of ongoing fiscal year 2015-16 as compared to $168.766 million exports of the corresponding period of last year.
According the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, during the period under review, about 1,469 metric tons of onyx manufactured worth $2.815 million exported as compared to the exports of 1,388 metric tons valuing $3.409 million of same period last year, it added.
The export of onyx manufactured witnessed 11.91 percent increase in first two-quarters of current financial year as compared to same period of last year, the data revealed, the data revealed.
On month on month basis, the exports of surgical goods and medical instruments also registered 7.29 percent increase as it stood at $31.92 million in month of December as against the export of $29.780 million of same month of last financial year.
During the month of December, 2015, country earned $6.430 million by exporting the different types of cutlery goods as compared to the earnings of $5.742 million of November, 2015, it added.
However, during first half of current financial year, other chemicals exports decreased by 21.95 percent as went down from $266.305 million of first six months of last year to $207.859 million in the same period of current financial year, the data revealed.
