Excise seizes documents of 150 token tax defaulter vehicles

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has seized the documents of more than 150 vehicles in Lahore during a general hold-up on Monday.

Excise Motor Branch Director Suhail Arshad is taking stern action against token tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles in the region. Even on public holiday, the Excise Motor Branch continued its crackdown on defaulters and seized documents of vehicles in different areas of the city.

The Excise and Taxation Department has formed special teams to bring to book tax evaders and to impound unregistered vehicles. Director Suhail Arshad is supervising the campaign against such vehicles.

The teams of Motor Branch have established checkpoints on different roads of the city. Excise seized documents of defaulting vehicles on Jail Road, Ferozpur Road, Model Town, Multan Road, Raiwind Road, Ravi Road, Faisal Town and Shahdara Toll Plaza.

Meanwhile, the excise teams have also impounded 65 vehicles on non-payment of token tax.

Earlier DG excise Akram Ashaf Gondal has directed all officials of the regions to enhance their performance for recoveries and achieve target. He also warned dictators of Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur to improve their performance.
