Eight ships arrive at Port Qasim; cargo volume remains 73,892 tonnes

KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers and furnace oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminals and FOTCO Terminal, respectively.

Meanwhile, eight more ships carrying Containers, Rice, Soya Bean, Canola Seed and Edible Oil also arrived at an outer anchorage of Port Qasim during 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 65% at the port on Wednesday where a total seven ships namely Maersk Pitts Burgh, Jazan, Rising, Bao Heng, Golden Heiwa, MT. Lahore and MT Box are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, canola seed, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 73,892 tonnes comprising 52,814 tonnes imports and 21,078 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,196 containers (TEUs) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
