FBR issues new list of 350 industrial units for special audit

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued another list of 350 industrial units (176 in Sialkot and 174 in Gujranwala) for special audit.

According to FBR officials, the board has announced that the special audit would soon be conducted for their possible tax evasion and flaws in internal audits and tax return submission.

The new list has been issued in the second phase of the procedure of conducting the special audit of the selected industrial units, they added.

Earlier, the FBR had issued names of as many as 3,475 industrial units in Gujranwala Division’s Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts for special audit. The FBR had also formed 13 special teams in this regard.

On the other hand, the FBR has announced to bring 23,000 new traders in the tax net in Gujranwala region.

Officials said the Gujranwala Regional Tax Directorate has been assigned to bring 11,000 traders of Gujranwala and Hafizabad districts in tax net; Sialkot Regional Tax Directorate for 10,200 traders in Sialkot, Narowal and Gujrat districts besides bringing 1,800 traders in tax net in Mandi Bahauddin.

The special teams, with special monthly targets, are visiting trade bodies to motivate new traders to come under the tax net.
