FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad has confiscated smuggled items worth Rs 15.572 million approx including duty and taxes worth Rs 6.329 million approx during the third week of the current month.
Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Intelligence team has impoundment non duty paid miscellaneous items and vehicles which were used in smuggling transportation of illicit items.
Customs Intelligence has registered four different cases against the accused who were involved in smuggling non duty paid F/O generators, 150 bags of red chilies worth Rs 0.5 million and Indian polyester grey textile fabrics and evading of customs duty.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation also impounded two non duty paid vehicles worth Rs 4.4 million during a raid, which were used for transportation of smuggled items. The high officials of Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation have appreciated the performance of the intelligence teams who foiled various smuggling bids in the region.
