FBR directs customs to arrest smugglers and non-duty paid vehicles promptly

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed customs officials to take strict measures to captivate those people promptly who are involved in smuggling of goods.

According to sources, FBR has issued special instructions to all customs departments including Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Customs Airport Staff, Field Investigation Units and all checking teams to take quick and  appropriate steps to arrest smugglers to curb the transfer of smuggled goods along with those who are using the smuggled and non-duty paid vehicles, under the customs act 1969.

FBR has also directed to put behind the bars those who are involved in illegal and unlawful activites along with smugglers as those people badly damaging the national treasure because they do not pay any penny of tax to government.
