HYDERABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) confiscated 1,700 litres of smuggled diesel and a vehicle being used for the transportation of the smuggled diesel worth Rs 402,000.
Following the directions of Model Customs Collectorate Additional Collector Umar Shafique, a ASO team comprising Deputy Superintendent Sikandar Akbar Phanwar, Anwar Ahmed Siddiqui, Inspector Waqar Ahmad Baig, Syed Nazim Ali and Sepoy M. Aslam, intercepted a Mazda truck bearing registration No PAA-304 near super highway, Hyderabad and recovered diesel.

The customs officials asked the driver to show documents showing the legal import and lawful possession of the diesel but he could not do the same on which the vehicle was impounded along with diesel under the customs laws.
