CPEC will be guarantee of economic stability in region: Ukrainian envoy

ISLAMABAD: Ukrainian Ambassador to Pakistan Volodymyr Lakomov has said that a large number of investors from his country want to invest in mega project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other sectors like textile and agriculture in Pakistan.

The ambassador said that the CPEC would be a guarantee of economic stability in the region besides Pakistan and China particularly for Central and South Asia including Middle East.

Ukraine and Pakistan enjoys excellent bilateral trade and economic ties and both the countries have multi-billion US dollars potential in the coming years especially in the agriculture, textile and defence sectors.

While talking about the trade volume between Ukraine and Pakistan, the ambassador said that both the countries have witnessed bilateral trade volume more than $500 million in year 2014 and it would further grow in future.

The ambassador said that Ukrainian investors are taking a lot of interest to invest in Pakistan. Unfortunately, it is not materialised due to internal situation of the Ukraine developed due to Russian aggression against its regions, Ambassador Volodymyr added.
