LAHORE: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized 1,498 cartons of Iranian tiles.
According to details, on the advice of Additional Director Mohsin Rafique, Customs I&I Superintendents Rauf Farooqi, Muhammad Hussain and Muhammad Anwar intercepted a truck on Sheikhupura Road carrying Iranian tiles. The truck was coming from Quetta.
Official sources said that the owner of the truck failed to produce the customs clearance documents. The market value of the smuggled tiles is said to be Rs 2 million while duty and taxes would be Rs 674,000.
