Court extends judicial remand of suspect in tyres smuggling case

LAHORE: Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan has approved another 14-day judicial remand of suspect Shahnawaz, who is allegedly involved in tyres smuggling case.

According to the details, Shahnawaz was arrested by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation from Bund Road area of Lahore on the charges of tyres smuggling, involving millions of rupees taxes and duties.

The Customs Intelligence team after initial investigation presented him before the Customs Court where Judge Ameer Muhammad Khan sent him on physical remand for three days. After the interrogation, the accused was sent on judicial remand that has been extended for further 14 days.

It may be mentioned here that accomplices of the accused are released on bail.
