Customs Court issues non-bail able warrants of alleged smuggler

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has issued arrest warrants for suspect involved in a gold smuggling case.

According to details, Tahir Iqbal was allegedly involved in smuggling of gold from Lahore airport. Earlier, the Customs Court had also issued arrest warrant for two suspects last week.

The main accused of the smuggling scam, Muhammad Rizwan, is already in judicial custody. Rizwan was arrested by the Customs authorities when he tried to smuggle gold at the airport.

A huge quantity of gold was recovered from Muhammad Rizwan during checking of his luggage and his physical checking.

It was said by Customs Preventive that market value of seized gold is Rs 30 million. Customs Court issued many notices to accused Tahir Iqbal to cooperation with investigations authorities but he avoid to take part in investigations. Now Customs Court issued non-bail able warrants of accused Tahir Iqbal.

Customs Court directed authorities to produce accused during the next hearing of the case.
