The 15-member delegation of Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA), led by its Chairman Gulzar Firoz, will attend leather fair from February 1 to 3 and 19th footwear congress scheduled between Feb 3 to 5, said a PTA statement here. Representatives of twenty countries are expected to participate in the events.

The study tour is sponsored/supported by PITCO under Pakistan Leather Competitiveness Programme of European Union with the purpose for finalising the leather export promotion council in Pakistan. The delegation to India is the follow up to the announcement of leather export promotion council (LEPC) in Pakistan made by Federal Commerce Minister Engr Khurrram Dastagir Khan during inaugural ceremony of 2nd Pakistan mega leather show held on Jan 28 in Lahore.

The motive for the delegation is to make more close coordination with council of leather export (CLE) in India which is the similar autonomous body in India for the leather industry to ascertain the tested effective tools.
