Redesign Nishtarabad project, Khattak directs authorities

PESHAWAR: With the aim to facilitate the locals, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the authorities concerned to redesign the multi-purpose project in Nishtarabad.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister issued the directives at a meeting convened to review the preparatory measures for construction of markets and flats at Nishtarabad, said a handout. The high-ups of the Communication and Works Department briefed the meeting about the site, design, cost and structure of the proposed project.

They told the meeting that the multi-purpose project would have residential flats, shopping mall, cineplex, food court, restaurant, cinema and entertainment facilities. The project would be constructed at an area of 36.5 kanal.

Khattak directed the authorities to finalise the design and other requirements within two weeks. He also directed demolition of the existing buildings till March 15, so that the government signs an agreement with the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO).

The chief minister said that the plan should have commercial activities for generating resources to make it a revenue-generating source. He stressed the need for efficient utilisation of resources to get maximum results. He also stated that the project should also have an inbuilt security system.

Meanwhile, the chief minister directed the authorities of Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority to expedite work at Budhni Bridge, Charsadda-Nowshera Road and allied connectivity. He wanted the entire network of road connection completed within short span of time.

Later, chief minister chaired a meeting on Health Care Commission at the Chief Minister’s House. He was briefed about the performance of the commission. Pervez Khattak directed the authorities concerned to take immediate measures to protect the lives of poor people.
