Sialkot ASO seizes cigarettes, cloth worth Rs 1.6m

SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has confiscated smuggled cigarettes, cloth and juices worth Rs 1.6 million during an action.

Talking to Customs Today, the ASO spokesperson said that noose was being tightened around the smugglers’ neck following the directions of the Sialkot Customs collector.

He said that the smuggled items will not be allowed to be sold in the market, adding that stringent legal action will be taken against those traders/shopkeepers who found involved in selling smuggled items.

In his recent action, the ASO team has seized Pine cigarettes, cloth and juices under the prevailing customs laws, as the owner of the items could not produce the documents showing the legal import of the items.
