LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs taxation and Anti Smuggling has extended judicial remand of the smuggler namely Yar Muhammad Yari, who was arrested for smuggling foreign origin alcohol by the Chenab Rangers.
Sources told Customs Today that the accused was booked by Chenab Rangers when he was trying to smuggle Indian origin alcohol at Murad Kay, Kasur. Rangers’ mobile team was patrolling across the border while they noticed some suspicious activity on international border and intercepted a smugglers who started retaliation with mobile team. During retaliation one smuggler fled away from the spot and the other was arrested. The authorities recovered hundred bottles of alcohol from him.
Rangers team presented the accused person before the customs court and got three days of physical remand. After completion of investigation he was sent to jail on judicial remand.
On Thursday, he was again produced at a hearing; the court extended his judicial remand for fourteen days.
