FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized smuggled items and non-duty paid vehicles amounting to Rs 3 million during January and registered 13 cases.
Sources told Customs Today that Additional Director Azmat Tahira formed different teams to conduct raids after receiving secret information about the smuggling attempts.
The teams recovered different items which includes vehicles Trailer No. TLA- 722 worth Rs 2,300,000, Trailer No. C- 9614 worth Rs 2,300,000, Truck no. GLT-8192 worth Rs 400,000, and Trailer no. TLH-277 worth Rs 4,000,000.
Another customs teams impounds non-duty paid vehicles includes foreign origin Toyota Marks-X car, smuggled darchini and imli, small cardamom, dry ginger, two used generators, red chilies, Indian polyester grey textile fabric 251 bales, glass beads (China origin, smuggled coconut, Hino Truck No. AE-1126 model 1996 worth Rs 4,500,000.
Furthermore Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) registered two cases during the said period and confiscated Toyota Corolla X car No. AAH-244 model 2005 worth Rs 1,200,000 and Toyota Hilux surf IDL-3150 model 2002 worth Rs 1,500,000.
