ASO confiscates Rs 21m worth of smuggled vehicles, goods in Jan

LAHORE: The Anti-Smuggling Organization of the Customs Preventive has seized smuggled non-duty paid vehicles, including cars, auto parts, cloth and other miscellaneous goods amounting to Rs 21.652 million during the month of January 2016.
As per details, the seized vehicles include Toyota Camry Car, Honda Accord Car, Toyota Coaster Coach, Toyota Vitz Car and Toyota Land Cruiser. Cases valuing Rs 273.49 million have been made during the period July, 2015 to January, 2016 whereas cases valuing Rs 235.578 million were registered during the corresponding period of the last year (2014-15).
On the directions of the Collector of Customs Preventive, the ASO team comprising of Assistant Collector Dr. Muhammad Adnan Khan, Superintendent Munawar Ahmad Khan, Deputy Superintendents Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Saleem Akhtar and Ejaz Rasool Shah; Gulzar Hussain Bhati, Muhammad Khalid But, Amjad Khan, Abdul Ghaffar, Ghulam Hussain Kalas, Shahid Khan, Sajjad Hussain Bukhari, Abdul Hameed Bhatti, Tariq Baig, Muhammad Arif and Asif Nawaz Inspectors have started crackdowns against smugglers.
