Multan RTO collects revenue of Rs 6.137 billion in January

MULTAN: The Regional Tax Office of the Federal Board of Revenue has collected Rs 6.137 billion against the set target of Rs.7.738 billion during January.

Source told Customs Today the FBR had assigned the collection target of Rs 7.738 billion revenue to the Regional Tax Office for January. The assigned target includes income tax, sales tax and federal excise duty.

The Regional Tax Office Multan was given the collection task of the income tax worth Rs 3.807 billion for January and it collected Rs 3.160 billion. The assigned sales tax target was Rs 3.071 billion for January while the RTO collected Rs 2.908 billion.

Almost Rs 69 million under the head of federal excise duty had been collected against the target of Rs 219 million January.

The Regional Tax Office Multan failed to achieve assigned target of Rs 7.738 billion during the month of January. The Federal Board of Revenue RTO Multan is facing revenue shortfall of more than one billion after the end of January.

Sources told Customs today that revenue collection will be improved in the upcoming months due to introduction of tax amnesty scheme and annual and quarterly targets will be accomplished due to determined efforts of RTO Multan .
