MANILA: Police arrested seven persons and seized three kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or “shabu,” worth P10 million in a buy-bust operation led by the National Capital Region-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Binondo, Manila Tuesday night.
CIDG spokesperson Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin said the suspects were collared at Epitome Flowershop located at Pacific Centre Room, 809-B, Quintin Paredes Street.
The recent coup is the latest in a series of operations by the newly formed Anti-Illegal Drug Group AIDG of the Philippine National Police, in cooperation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, one of which led to the arrest of Marine Lieutenant Colonel Ferdinand Marcelino, a former PDEA official, and Chinese national Yan Yin Shou in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
This operation saw the PDEA also seizing almost P400 million worth of shabu.
However, Marcelino protested his arrest, saying he was on a “legitimate intelligence operation” when arrested.
