Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 13.35 million in January

FAISALABAD: The Anti-smuggling organization (ASO) Faisalabad has seized smuggled items worth Rs 13.35 million in various operations during January 2016.
Sources told Customs Today that an ASO team following the instruction of Collector Zulfiqar Ali Ch conducted various raided in Faisalabad, Mainawali, Sargodha, Jhang, and Sara-e-Mohajir and confiscated smuggled items under the supervision of Deputy Collector Falik Sher Ali.
According to detailed, the ASO has seized smuggled goods including vehicles used for transportation in smuggling purpose worth Rs 3 million, foreign origin cloth worth Rs 1.22 million, contraband cigarette worth Rs 0.14 million, miscellaneous electronic items worth Rs 0.27 million, foreign origin tobacco worth Rs 3.06 million, smuggled tempered vehicles worth Rs 4.1 million and other miscellaneous goods worth Rs 1.56 million during the above said period.
The Deputy Collector Falik Sher said that ASO is charged with preventing smuggling activities of the country while enforcing hundreds of customs laws.
