PRA reviews performance of enforcement officers

LAHORE: A meeting was held at the Punjab Revenue Authority (Headquarters) wherein the performance of the enforcement officers came under consideration. Besides officers in Lahore, the meeting was also attended by officers posted in PRA’s Commissionerates in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan.

Addressing the participants, PRA Chairperson Dr Raheel Ahmed Siddiqui directed that the PRA officers should make all-out efforts to collect taxes and should not be deterred by challenges faced by them.

He also stressed that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a recent meeting, had offered his full support to the efforts of Punjab Revenue Authority and the finance minister and the chief secretary had also appreciated PRA’s efforts. He stated that with the recent passage of the Punjab Revenue Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2015 (Bill No.51 of 2015), PRA’s legal problems are solved.

He stressed that as the premier tax collection agency of the province with an overall collection of Rs 31.657 billion for the first seven months of the current financial year till 31 January, 2016, PRA’s contribution in the development of the Punjab province could not be discounted.
