HYDERABAD: The Customs Collectorate has collected Rs 6,891.92 million under the head of different taxes in first seven months of the current fiscal year.
Sources told Customs Today that following the direction of the Federal Board of Revenue, the Customs Collectorate has constituted a special team under the supervision of Addition Collector Omar Shafique in order to meet the tax target.
The team comprising Deputy Collector Nafees Ahmed, Principle Appraiser Amen Farooqi, Principle Appraiser Riaz Ull Rheman and Inspector Muhammad Yaqoob Pasha recovered Rs 5377.31 million as sales taxes, Rs 1322.63 million as customs duty, Rs 15.60 million as federal excise duty and Rs 176.38 million under the head of income tax during the said period.
Sources said that M/s Pakistan State Oil, M/s Caltex, M/s Shell, M/s HSD Oil, M/s BWH, M/s Pak Arab, M/s Huffaz Seamless Pipe Nooriabad, M/s Crescent Stell Nooriabad, M/s Rema Cooking Oil Sukkur, M/s Omni Polymer Packages Matli, M/s Haji Abdul Raziq and M/s Ehsanullah were the major sources of tax revenue.
