Govt asked to set up Customs, FIA courts in Sialkot to facilitate traders

SIALKOT: The business community of Sialkot has asked the government to set up Customs Court and an FIA Court in Sialkot as this city is one of the business hubs of the country.

The said that the establishment of courts will save the business community from immense hardships as the businessmen have to go to other cities for the hearing of their cases.

Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Major (r) Mansoor Ahmed said Collector Customs is functioning in Sialkot situated at Sambrial but the Customs Court is functioning in Lahore and the FIA Court in Gujranwala.

While talking to Customs Today here  on other day Mansoor said if the income tax appellate authority  adjudicates income tax cases here, why not establishment of customs court and FIA court at Sialkot. He suggested that at least camp courts be established on the analogy of WAPDA,  anti-corruption, drugs and banking camp courts at Sialkot.
