RIYADH: Saudi customs foiled an attempt to smuggle 1501 bottles of alcohol into Saudi Arabia via the King Fahad Causeway. Customs officers searched a boat, which was tied to a car, and found the bottles hidden under a layer of fibreglass.

Police arrested the driver and seized the boat including haul of liquor, reported Arabic daily Al-Jazirah. The driver was later referred to competent security authorities.
