Wasif Memon convenes meeting to determine customs values of cereal foods

KARACHI: Director, Directorate General of Customs Valuation Dr Wasif Memon has convened a meeting to determine the customs values of cereal foods. The meeting would be held on February 18, 2016.

As per the notification, the meeting would be held under the chairmanship of Director Custom Valuation Dr Wasif Memon at his office, at Custom House.

Those participating in the meeting have been instructed to bring invoices of imports during last three months showing actual value, websites, names and e-mail addresses of know foreign suppliers of the items in question through which the actual current values can be ascertained, copies of contracts made/LCs opened during the last three months showing the value of items in question, copies of sales tax invoices issued during last four months showing the differences in prices (excluding duty and taxes) to substantiate that the benefit of difference in price is passed on to the local buyers.

Furthermore, the stakeholders have been asked to bring other relevant document if any like test reports, literature and representative samples and proposed calculation in support of their contentions so that the meeting is purposeful and the issue is decided quickly.
