FBR decides to shift IOCO HQs, DG Office to Islamabad

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to make Input Output Co-efficient Organization (IOCO) more operational and also planning to shift the IOCO Headquarters and Directorate General Staff Office to Islamabad, it is learnt here.

Sources told Customs Today that the top management of the FBR, after a series of meetings, has decided to increase the authority/power of IOCO and owing to this; the authorities have almost decided to transfer the IOCO Headquarters and DG Staff Office to Islamabad.

It is pertinent to mention here that the IOCO Headquarters is currently working in Custom House-Karachi and its South Region Office is right now at the 5th floor of Custom House, building. Right now, an officer of BS-20 Shahnaz Maqbool is serving as Director-IOCO South Region.

The sources further confirmed Customs Today that the shifting of the offices of IOCO has been started and the entire process would be completed within two to three months of time.
