Multan Customs Intelligence seizes smuggled goods worth Rs52.6m ‏

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized five trucks loaded with various illegal goods worth Rs 52.6 million.

According to details, the Border Military Police have seized non- customs paid goods from the tribal areas near Dera Ghazi Khan.

All five detained trucks were handed over to the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan for the verification of detained goods and vehicles under the Customs Law.

Customs were given custody of detained goods and trucks under Standard Operating Procedure. Customs Intelligence and Investigation have conducted thorough examination of the detained goods and their vehicles which were found as smuggled. The major smuggled items involved in the seized goods includes 1600 cartons of foreign origin cigarettes of various brands, 600 heavy duty and light duty vehicle, 50 embroidery machines and other miscellaneous goods.

Customs teams have also seized five trucks of worth Rs 12 million during the action. Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Nisar Ahmad have decided to seize the detain goods and trucks after owner failed to provide any legal documents regarding possession of goods and trucks.
