Customs AFU officials seize 619 smart phones of Samsung, iPhones brands

LAHORE: The Customs Preventive Air Freight Unit  has seized 619 smart phones from a passenger who had arrived from Bahrain.

Sources told Customs Today that Gulf Air Flight No GF- 790 was diverted to Lahore from Faisalabad due to bad weather. It was reported that the passenger, Faisal Ashfaq, due to fear of examination left the bags of mobile phone of assorted companies including Samasung, IPhone and others.

The sources said that the average value of one smart phone is Rs 10,000. The sources said that Ashfaq was travelling on Passport No GK 1846961 but in IBMS record he travelled on his second passport no  GK 1846962.

The sources said that the Customs authorities on the instructions of AC Ejaz Shaheen seized the mobiles while the accused fled away.

The custom staff including Superintendent Manzoor Inspector Shahid Bhatti and others started investigations.
