MOSCOW: Ukrainian Naftogaz is seeking compensation, the company’s head said here the other day.
“There are potential compensations which we seek from Gazprom. The amount is nearing $30 billion,” Kobolev said.
Previous data estimated the total claims of Naftogaz to Gazprom standing at $25.7 billion. The Russian gas giant itself claims $29.2 billion from the Ukrainian company.
Naftogaz and Gazprom have been involved in legal proceedings with mutual claims since 2014.
The Ukrainian gas company expects the court to take a decision on its dispute with Gazprom over the gas purchase contract until the fall of 2016, and on the gas transit contract in December 2016.
