Bahawalpur RTO generates Rs 7.62m from 17 returns under tax amnesty scheme

BAHAWALPUR: The Regional Tax Office, Bahawalpur, has generated a sum of Rs 7.62 million after successfully launching the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme for traders.

The RTO collected Rs 35,62,000 from 10 returns by February 19 and Rs 35,00,000 from seven returns, which were to be deposited by Monday (Feb 22).

Meanwhile, a seminar was organised for creating awareness and understanding of Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme among the traders and business community, under the chairmanship of RTO Chief Commissioner Ghazanfar Hussain, in the conference hall of Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce & Industries (BCCI).

Commissioner (Zone-I) Rajabuddin, Additional Commissioner Ghulam Sarwar Shah, Deputy Commissioner IR Muhammad Akhtar Suraj and other officers also participated in the seminar, while BCCI President Zafar Sharif, Senior Vice President Raja Shah Zeb, Vice President Ch Munawar Hussain, members of executive committee and a large number of members of the chamber attended the seminar.

Ghazanfar Hussain pointed out that the scheme is not for the collection of tax only but it is to resolve the problems of the new businessmen.

The officers of RTO, Bahawalpur further elaborated the benefits of the scheme for the traders. Questions raised by the participants on different aspects of the scheme were answered in detailed. All the participants showed their satisfaction with the scheme.
