SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has issued final notices to 16,000 tax defaulters including 8,00 property dealers, owners of brick kilns, rice mills and factories in Gujranwala division.
Sources told Customs Today that special teams issued final recovery notices to defaulters in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahawal Din and Hafizabad districts. The teams have advised the defaulters to ensure early payment of their prolonged pending professional taxes within 10 days. The officials said that Excise and Taxation Department would seal the properties of the defaulters after deadline date.
Excise and Taxation officer Fiaz Shah said that the department has collected about Rs 37 million professional taxes during first eight months of the current fiscal year 2015-16 against Rs 75 million set target.
