KARACHI: Directorate General (DG) of Internal Audit-Customs Ibrahim Vighio (Look-after charge) has sent a request to the Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) to provide the last six months data of the steel related consignments which fall under SRO 450.
Sources informed Customs Today that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), through a letter last week, asked the Internal Audit-Customs to initiate audit of the post clearance consignments of steel from all field formation Collectorates i.e. Customs Appraisement (West), Customs Appraisement (East) and Customs-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim.
Responding to a query, the sources informed that the main aim of FBR directives in connection with the audit of post clearance steel consignments under SRO450 was to check the veracity of the cleared consignments from all three field formation Collectorates and to create audit paras if any misappropriation is found during the clearance of steel consignments under SRO 450.
It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR has determined to increase the revenue by detecting audit paras of the consignments which have been cleared through different field formation Collectorates.
