LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved extension in judicial remand of two accused who are involved in smuggling of Indian alcohol.
According to details, Ghulam Ali and Muhammad Waqas were booked by the Punjab Rangers who foiled their attempt to smuggle alcohol from India to Pakistan.
On Wednesday Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling approved extension in judicial remand of accused persons for fourteen days more and sent them to jail again.
According to details available to Customs Today two accused who were identified as Ghulam Ali and Muhammad Waqas were arrested by Punjab Rangers near Wagha border while they were making an attempt to smuggle Indian alcohol with the collaboration of Indian citizens and professional smugglers. Punjab Rangers vigilant teams arrested both smugglers and handed over them to Batapur police that registered a case of smuggling and illegal crossing of international border.
Investigation and prosecution team after completion of investigation presented them before the Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling, which sends them to jail on judicial remand.
