Minister reviews progress on PM solar tub-wells scheme

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has reviewed progress on Prime Minister’s mark up free financing for solar tube-wells scheme launched under the farmers’ package.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of provincial agriculture departments (water management and agriculture engineering) of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan including representatives of Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, State Bank of Pakistan, Zarai Taraqiati Bank (ZTBL), Finance division and Planning Department.

The Federal Water Management Cell director general presented the status of actions taken by the ministry since December 2015 besides briefing the participants on the draft PC-I and Standard Operating Procedures developed for smooth implementation of the scheme in Pakistan.

The minister highlighted the role of provincial departments not only in creating awareness about the scheme amongst the farming community but in successful implementation of the scheme in accordance with the criteria approved by the PM.
