SPRINGFIELD: Police say eight people were arrested after officers broke up a heroin ring in Springfield.
Narcotics officers seized more than 2,100 bags of heroin, nearly $4,400 in cash and other items after executing a search warrant at a Lebanon Street residence around 5 p.m here the other day.
Police say three officers were assaulted by a knife-wielding suspect during the raid. It’s not clear if the officers were injured.
The suspects are facing charges including heroin trafficking, heroin possession and other offenses.
