LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved post-arrest bail plea of the accused namely Fazal Hussain in a tax evasion case.
According to details, Fazal Hussain was allegedly involved in sales tax and income tax evasion. The Federal Board of Revenue Gujranwala detected that the accused had made huge bank transactions but always avoided to pay tax. After confirmation of his income and his bank transactions, the Inland Revenue of Gujranwala arrested him for evading tax amounting Rs 8 million.
The accused was in jail on judicial remand and now the court has approved his bail against surety bonds and cash guarantee.
Meanwhile, Customs Court has also heard 20 cases including some tax evasion cases. The court adjourned three cases of pre arrest bails for next week including Saif ul Rehman, Qamar Khan, Muhammad Yosuf, Muhammad Mehboob, Muhammad Ramzan and Muhammad Nadeem for new dates.
