ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi have jointly launched a ‘Talent Hunt Programme-2016′ for students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a senior official of the company said Friday.
Under the programme, talented students from less privileged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be selected for their grooming and preparation and subsequent admission in IBA’s BBA/BS programmes.
“This extended two months orientation programme will be based on merit cum need consideration to enhance students’ knowledge of English grammar and composition, mathematics and basic presentation and communication skills, emphasizing on personal development and grooming,” he told APP.
Commenting on eligibility criteria, he said students securing 75 percent or above marks in Matric examination conducted by board of Secondary Education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the year 2015 and those who are appearing for the HSSC Level-II examination in the year 2016 an apply for the programme. Last date for submission of the forms is April 2, 2016, he added.
Students who have secured 70 per cent or above marks in the HSSC Level-I examination conducted by the board of Intermediate Education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the year 2015 and appearing for HSSC Level-II examination in the year 2016 are eligible for this programme, he added.
Assessment test would be held in major district of the province on April 17 and its result would be announced on April 23. While interviews are scheduled to be held on May 6 and the final result would be announced on May 14. “The orientation programme will continue from May End-July End,” the official informed.
Commenting on scope of the programme, he said the orientation programme class size would be approximately of 50 students. All trainees will be given accommodation at the IBA run and managed premises. Transport facility will be available for pick and drop of the students, while girl students will be provided separate accommodation in new girls hostel under the direct supervision of a designated lady staff member.
Besides, students would organize extracurricular activities like sports, cultural events and debate contests by themselves as it would help them increase team building and interpersonal skills.
