ISLAMABAD: The government has refuted the news item regarding laying off of PIA employees through a golden handshake scheme.
According to the PIA spokesman, no such proposal is under consideration, nor has money been allocated for the purpose. “It is regrettable that such kind of rumours are being spread to create unnecessary unrest among the staff of the national airline, which is trying to recover from the heavy losses,” he concluded.
