Customs Court to declare directors of Nimra Textile as proclaimed offenders in next hearing

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling may announce directors of Nimra Textile Mills as proclaimed offenders during the next hearing of the case as they are willfully avoiding to appear in court since long in a tax evasion case.

According to details, the Special Federal Customs Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the accused twice. The court has also issued many notices to the suspects to ensure their presence in the court but they are still not cooperating in this regard.

As per details, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Inland Revenue (IR) Faisalabad, while scrutinizing the record, found that the directors of Nimra Textile Mills were allegedly involved in tax evasion and registered a case against them. The officials summoned the directors to cooperate in the investigations but they failed to appear before the officials to explain their position.

Later, the officials approached the court seeking arrest warrant against the accused directors where the court after hearing the arguments issued non-bailable warrants.

Special Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan has issued warrants of Arif Mehmood Qureshi and Muhammad Saqlain, directors of Nimra Textile Mills Sheikhupura road Faisalabad.
