FBR seek details of tax evaders from departments concerned

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is seeking details of new vehicles and properties from the government departments whereas notices are issued to 2,500 people for recovery of taxes.

Sources told Customs Today that the FBR has written letters to the Excise and Taxation Department, Revenue Department, administrations of private housing societies and sought details of owners who purchased new vehicles, commercial plazas, markets, shops, marriage halls, godowns, factories and agricultural land.

Sources said that the government has directed the FBR to take steps to bring more people under the tax net and use all resources for this purpose. Sources said that those people who purchased new vehicles and properties have to declare their source of income.

Sources told that the FBR issued tax recovery notices amounting to Rs 20 million to 2500 people  in Gujranwala Region who were indicated by FBR. FBR mentioned in notices that said defaulters must pay their taxes before June 30, 2016 otherwise their properties will be sealed.
