HONG KONG: On Monday a woman was arrested at the airport after customs officers found four packages of suspected cocaine – totalling 1.8 kilos with a market value of HKD2 million – inside “the girdle she wore”, according to a government press release.

Judging from the photos, the pink flesh-coloured girdle was tailor-made for such illicit purposes and was more likely to leave its wearer looking lumpy rather than svelte.
The woman, aged 24, was arriving from Johannesburg via Dubai and claimed to be a merchant. She was charged with one count of trafficking and appeared at Tsuen Wan Magistrates’ Courts.
Trafficking in a dangerous drug can be punished by the maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a HKD5 million fine.
