RTO-II achieves 100pc target in February

LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has achieved the 100 percent tax collection target for February 2016.

According to the detail, the FBR had assigned Rs 6 billion target for the month, including Rs 3.5 billion as sales tax and Rs 2.5 billion under the head of income tax.

The RTO-II achieved the target by collecting Rs 3,500 million in wake of sales tax and Rs 2,500 million under the head of income tax.

Officials said that department was taking effective steps to recover the taxes from the defaulters, adding that recently announced tax amnesty scheme will increase the revenue collection that will help to meet the target of current fiscal year.
