WASHINGTON: Pilbara Ports Authority has delivered a total monthly throughput of 51.5 million tonnes (Mt) for the month of February. This is an increase of 6% from the same month in 2015. The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 37.1Mt, an increase of 3% from the previous year. Iron ore exports for the month totalled 36.6Mt, an increase of 3% from the same month in 2015.
Imports totalled 106,000 tonnes, a decrease of 35,000 tonnes or 25% from the previous year. The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 14.3Mt, an increase of 13% from the same month in 2015. Imports totalled 84,000 tonnes, a decrease of 4% from the previous year’s figures.
