Sialkot ASO seizes smuggled cloth worth Rs 20m, arrests three suspects

SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has recovered Indian origin smuggled cloth worth Rs 20 million from a truck and arrested three persons. A case has been registered against the suspects.

Reportedly, Model Customs Collectorate Assistant Collector Zahid Bashir Chaudhry deputed ASO Inspector Sheikh Muhammad Akram on GT Road to check suspected vehicle and to foil smuggling bids.

During checking, Inspector Sheikh Akram intercepted a truck and recovered Indian smuggled cloth worth Rs 20 million. The officials asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import of the cloth but he failed to do the same.

The officials of the ASO impounded truck and cloth and arrested three accused persons namely Nasir and two others. The ASO has registered a case against the arrested persons.
