FIA arrests fourth accused involved in Rs 130m currency smugglers

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested one more currency smuggler after revelation of a accused who was arrested from Allama Iqbal International Airport with Rs 130 million foreign currency.

As per details, the FIA team has arrested another main accused Yawar Butt. Accused Yawar Butt delivered bags of currency to Lahore airport from where another accused Zeshan Butt smuggles that money to Gulf states.

Yawar Butt is an employee of Shaheen Airline and due to his resouces at Lahore Airport he was trying to transfer the money directly into the plane for smuggling.

Earlier FIA had raided Iqbal Town and arrested Hafiz Shabbir, who is allegedly involved in currency smuggling. Following the revelation, the FIA team nabbed another accused namely Liaqat from a money exchange company and also seized Rs 110 million from his possession.

 

Earlier, the FIA team had arrested Zeeshan Naseer Butt, suspected of smuggling about Rs 130 million from Lahore to Dubai via Allama Iqbal International Airport.
