Jhang ASO seizes non-duty paid Pajero worth Rs 1m

FAISALABAD: The Customs anti-smuggling organisation Jhang has confiscated a smuggled Mitsubishi Pajero bearing registration No MNH- 1363 model 1984 worth Rs 1 million during routine checking.

Sources informed Customs Today that Deputy Collector ASO Falik Shair received credible information about non-duty paid vehicles which are plying on roads. He immediately constituted a team comprising Muhammad Javed Mehmood (superintendent), Sardar Muhammad (deputy superintendent), Munir Ahmad, Shaukat Khan (inspectors), Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Ajmal, Ahmad Bux (sepoys).

The ASO team intercepted the vehicle near Molohawana More, Bhakkar Road Jhang and asked owner of the vehicle who was identified as Rana Javed Hussain son of  Rana Ghulam Rasool Tehsil Kaberiawala district Khenewal to produce legal documents regarding possession of the vehicle but he failed to produce any relevant documents.  ASO team seized the vehicle and forward the case to customs adjudication for further action.
